I would like the opportunity to apply for the FLEET MANAGER as advertised on Linked website. As detailed in the job description I have solid experience in the administrative and managerial aspects of transportation systems and customer service.

My resume demonstrates I have a history of planning directing and coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair in large transportation environments. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management. That experience gave me the thorough understanding of fleet activities and vehicle management needed to be an effective Fleet Manager. I build close relationships with employees, customers and resources that ensure the best services for profits and sales through smart planning scheduling and implementation of vehicle acquisitions. I have the management, leadership, and planning, organizing skills you are going to want in a Fleet Controller for motivating hard work and safe conditions. For the last 20 years I have worked for a private company (Transnet) supervising a team of 4 Admin Officer and 18 drivers monitoring the performance of over 300 fleet vehicles, trailers, and machinery. This entailed the care presentation retrieval and rental of company vehicles.

Experience

  • Assist in the provisioning of integrated public transport services and public transport infrastructure within non-metro municipalities.
  •  Assist in providing support and capacitation of non-metro local authorities with regard to the implementation of land transport services. 
  • Enable the implementation of NMT and SNP plans and strategies. 
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and provide project support to enable land transport integration. 
  • Manage information (data, knowledge, wisdom) by applying tools and techniques to inform decision-making, produce reports, enhance service delivery. 
  • Human resource management. 
  • Determine and communicate financial requirements to execute assigned deliverables.
  • Manage procurement and operation of the subsidy motor transport scheme
  • Facilitate the sections planning and budget control by, doing financial quarterly and yearly budget. Ensure costs are minimized while still meeting the needs of the business. 
  • Control and ensure the maintenance, repairs and service of vehicles by ensuring that vehicles comply with established safety standards & requirements. 
  • Provide cost effective and efficient fleet service in the department to ensure optimum utilization.
  • Management of traffic violations and administration
  • Manage installations and de-installation of vehicle speed limits and tracking devices by monitoring and controlling the departmental vehicle tracking system.
  • Manage licensing validity, vehicle license renewals, driver permits, operator permits, and infringements for the reporting depots. 
  • Management of personnel Ensure that all fleet activities are conducted in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and delegation of authority. 
  • Dispose assets in accordance with the requirements of Treasury Regulation and internal prescripts.  
  • Ensure that vehicle audits are conducted regularly, correction action is undertaken, and record of audit trails are kept. 
  • Management of driver assessment training & Ensure adherence to all fleet processes is followed in respect of reporting of vehicle incidents and accidents. 
  • Manage age of supplier debtor book
  •  Increase awareness of safety through facilitating & coordinating driver management programs & safety initiates identified.
  • Ensure effective expeditious adjudication of Road traffic fines for depots Ensure to AARTO and manage the adherence to AARTO timelines. 
  • Manage asset replacement lifecycles 
  • Compile annual fleet plan for depot based on information management 
  • Monitor supplier lease and maintenance contract and SLA 
  • Promote the effective and efficient management of immovable assets.
  • Manage Fixed asset Register – Monitoring fixed asset register; Assess the optimal utilization of un-/under utilized - assets and acquisition and disposal submissions; Monitoring and assess validity of lease – in/out – agreements.

Education

Matric, Diploma in Transport Management and BTech degree in Transport management
