Dear Reader

I'm Mali Tshabalala, I grew up in Daveyton, Gauteng in South Africa. I am an IT specialist that studied at the Vaal University of Technology and completed a National Diploma in Information Technology and currently working towards my BSc Degree in Computer Science at the University of South Africa. My interests, love, and passion are being able to research and develop and make innovative changes in society.

Being part of the gradual development of technology exalts my love for my craft and everything that comes with it. And this has given me an opportunity not just to appreciate the people I meet, the places I go, the hours I keep, and the sleepless nights of trying to meet deadlines but the opportunity to be part of the new order.

As a person, I enjoy the positive aspects of life. And the activities that give me a sense of optimism is reading (mostly self-help, my favorite book is The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg), writing (to improve my grammar); I like to think (mostly about the structure of the nation's economy), I like to dream (about cars); I like to talk (about politics), and I like to listen. Foremost I love to use my imagination to create new and different ideas and perspectives by observing my environment, and this allows me to consider a number of different perspectives assisting in producing short and long-term radical solutions to problems.

Drawing inspiration from City Year USA, City Year South Africa was established to mobilize the youth of South Africa to contribute to the upliftment of poor and marginalized communities and promote development.

Raise awareness of innovation and change management across the organization and encourage all employees to look at different ways of working. And also providing support to all internal employees in taking their ideas through the innovation process to the possible commercialization stage.

With experience working across various disciplines and with a wide knowledge base as a software developer, CX, and UX designer, solution/ system architect. I am confident, I am an excellent fit. My experience has provided me with the innovative and technical skills to drive technical solutions from conceptual to a feasible products.

Working at Absa I have been instrumental in structuring several systems comprising of Product Monitoring tool, AWS Chatbot, Innovation Hub, Bootcamp Learning System, and Enterprise Systems. Furthermore, I was part of a team that designed customer REST API. And it would be a pleasure to learn and contribute more and provide further insight.
