Makhosazane Jiyane

I always knew that I wanted to tell authentic human interest stories, but I wasn’t ever sure how to go about it. After matric, I enrolled for a Journalism Diploma from The IIE Rosebank College which I graduated with in 2020. I started a small storytelling blog, Story Time With Ree, which featured some of my fictional stories. While I was in my final year, I started working for Black Cure Productions (PTY) Ltd as a Content Writer. During my time there, I worked with various companies' brand identity. Some of my duties included researching various industries, writing for and managing a newsletter and enhancing clients' brand identity. Thereafter, I briefly worked for another media and publishing company, CSRNEWSSA, as a Digital Media Intern. There I learnt skills related to website management, social media management as well as handling press releases.  After my journey at CSRNEWSSA ended, I continued to harness my writing skills through reading more and thus developed a niche for human interest stories. I then developed a second blog under my enterprise, MJ Creative Studio, with which I use to share and rise awareness on various pressing issues in our modern society.

I have worked at:

Black Cure Productions as a Communications Officer from March 2019 to June 2021. Under this position, my duties were as follows;

• Content Planning, Research and Writing
• Client – Stakeholder Engagement
• Newsletter Management
• Internal and Client Communication Strategy Implementation 
• Photography
• Live Events Coverage
• Social Media Management

I then worked at CSRNEWSSA as a digital media volunteer, where I performed duties such as:

• Writing and Publishing Press Releases
• Social Media Management
• Website Management
• Client-Media Liaisons

I am in possession of a Diploma in Journalism from The IIE Rosebank College which I graduated with nine (9) distinctions.
