Lisa Mentel

A South African bubbly woman with a holistic outlook on life and a drive to challenge the stigma around mental health. 

When it comes to wellbeing, I believe in integrating a client's mind, body, and soul in order to reach their happiest and most wholesome self. I am both a Specialist  Wellness Counsellor with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP) and a trained coach practitioner (ICF and COMENSA). 

 I am beyond just these titles that make up my career. 

I love to laugh, have fun, and be outdoors. 

I love to get creative, share parts of my own healing journey, and be authentic with my clients. 

I have always gravitated towards holistic wellness and mental health which lead me into studying counselling in 2018, completing my Bachelor of Social Science Honours (Psychology) in 2019, and a Coach Practitioner Programme in 2022. My first exposure to schools and counselling began in early 2020 in which I volunteered at underprivileged schools here Cape Town, South Africa. I co-facilitated group sessions and worked with children aged 10 – 16 years. Since February 2020, I have also been involved with corporate wellness, and furthermore launched The Butterfly Innovation (my mental health business) in November 2021. I have worked within large companies such as Spar Western Cape and Woolworths Western Cape, providing their employees (as well as employees’ family members/dependents) with mental health services and group debriefing. Furthermore, I offer private online therapy, coaching and wellness consulting through The Butterfly Innovation.
