About Lecinda Coetzee:

I am a senior education specialist for the foundation phase with over 13 years of experience in the education sector. My journey began as a Foundation Phase teacher, a role I passionately fulfilled for 6 years before being promoted to my current position. I hold full qualifications in Foundation Phase education and have provided in-classroom support for Grade R-3 teachers for the past 7 years.

As an Afrikaans Home Language Provincial Reference Team member, I have developed Science for Reading training manuals and facilitator guides used by subject advisors and Foundation Phase teachers across the province. Teacher training is a core part of my role, and I also contribute to the academic community through part-time lecturing at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

I am deeply committed to children and learning, striving to make a positive impact and embracing every opportunity to advance education. Known for my hard work and dedication, I consistently go the extra mile to support educators and improve the learning experience for young learners.

Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the National Curriculum Statement (NCS) in all public ordinary and special schools.

As a foundation phase teacher:

Ensures quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
Plan, coordinate, administer, evaluate, and report on learners’ academic progress.
Establish a classroom environment that stimulates positive learning and actively engages learners in the learning process. Curriculum management in the Foundation Phase. Timetabling for the foundation phase, grades 1-3. I was responsible for the collection of fees and other monies, staff welfare, accidents, and first aid. Organising parent meetings.
