LABOUR RELATIONS ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT – SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Planning, organizing, coordination and procurement for various meetings, trainings and events.
  • Compile grievance submissions for MEC responses to unresolved GDoH institutional grievances, including MEC responses to Public Service Commission enquiries regarding employee disputes.
  • Consultation and collaboration with Organized Labour & application of collective agreements.
  • Coordination and facilitation of labour related meetings: bi- & multilateral, consultations, LR forum.
  • Grievance investigation, facilitation, management and resolution.
  • Misconduct investigation, facilitation and management of disciplinary proceedings.
  • Strike management and reporting, negotiation, and conflict management facilitation.
  • Development, facilitation and conducting of Labour Relations training to management and staff.
  • Facilitation of implementation public service and departmental resolutions, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Advise management and employees on labour relations, employment equity-, employee wellness-, recruitment and selection and general HR administration matters.

EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELLNESS

  • Training and health education on HIV, mental health and substance abuse, lifestyle modification, treatment adherence, financial education, workshops, workplace violence and family related matters. 
  • Management and implementation of COIDA and PILLIR proceedings including arrangements for occupational health screening and assessments, alternative work agreements and incapacity matters for affected employees and their families.
