About Kyle Hendricks:
I believe working in a fun collaborative environment with students and seeing them all as unique individuals who require specific attention. I do this by engaging in a variety of interesting and enjoyable activities through co-operative learning strategies, and I tailor my approach to student needs, interests, personalities & problem areas, to meet the criteria of diverse student groups.
Due to my experience in Trauma Counseling on victims of violence & abuse(CBT therapy & Narrative therapy), I have a unique verbal and non-verbal approach to communication, which, allows me to create lesson plans that addresses, multiple cultures, personalities and linguistic levels, this keeps my students engaged, and interested in the proactive learning process, inside and outside the classroom.
My strengths are that I am enthusiastic, entertaining and patient with learners and I can come up with unique ways for them to self-correct, understand corrections, and I give instructions in an engaging manner for real application, thereby, making a direct connection between the classroom and everyday practical use. At a high school level, I have provided assessments, lesson plan and conducted and evaluated tests for students in the subject of life Skills and History using the South African curriculum. Furthermore, in an online educator's capacity I have helped European students for over a year using the CEFR framework, and international students for over three years of all age groups (4-70) in the areas of business, and conversational English. Additionally, I have prepared learners for IELTS exam preparation in the areas of reading, speaking and listening by giving them tips on how to improve their score in an exam situation. A demonstration of my ability is that I have made fluency guidelines for students to follow and have made non-verbal guidelines for students to be aware of which allows them to be more self-reflective of their voice, and critical of the communication process. Students have found these amongst other corrections in grammar and pronunciation to be useful.
A combination of these strategies reinforces learning outside the classroom in real situations, boosts self-confidence, promotes self-esteem and general communicative awareness.

The Trauma Centre (Trauma Counselor) (2014 Feb – August)
I conducted psychological screening & intakes, gave written reports on the client’s progress, corresponded with humanitarian agencies (UNHCR, etc.), and implemented effective intervention strategies for groups and individuals using various therapeutic techniques (CBT & Narrative therapy etc...).
I designed a linguistic framework to help foreign nationals and interpreters, which reduced misunderstandings in counseling.

At Tutor ABC I Managed work schedules while maintaining a 9.0/10 rating based on evaluation, assisting students with English linguistic abilities (syntax, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, spelling, writing and intonation). In this position I am required to manage my own work schedule and do so successfully. I work with both groups and individual learners from all continents of the world.
My students are in the age ranges of (18+-70) and have conducted classes in the following areas: IELTS exam preparation and evaluation, using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), business, travel, general communication, idiomatic phrases, cultural awareness, and holiday. Additionally, I manage individual and group classes, and evaluate them in terms of vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, tone, grammar, and non-verbal communication such as body language, & facial expressions. I provide effective methods for them to address these issues(corrections) in a systematic way so that they can improve their overall communicative ability. I have developed some tips and guidelines(strategies) for students to follow which can be implemented, so that they have ways to practice verbal and non-verbal elements of language, and I explain key concepts of grammar, pronunciation, tone & fluency that most students found useful.
