Khodani Garrison Conjwa

I am a recently qualified and highly motivated B.Eng Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of Zululand, with a robust academic foundation. I Demonstrated strong technical and analytical abilities through a comprehensive final-year research project titled 'Investigation of Power System Blackouts and Prevention Strategies', which involved grid modelling, fault simulation, and the analysis of prevention techniques. I am a proven leader and mentor, having held executive roles in multiple student organisations (Unizulu Engineering Society, SAIEE Student Chapter, BRICS SC, Enactus) and served as a Student Tutor, guiding first-year students through complex engineering concepts. I combine excellent communication, project management, and  problem-solving skills with a passion for applying theoretical knowledge to practical engineering challenges.

My professional experience is built on two key vacation engineering roles where I applied my technical knowledge in practical settings. At MOSA Engineering Services, I gained hands-on exposure to the project lifecycle by assisting with tender preparations, conducting site visits for data collection, and supporting technicians during building electrification. Previously, at Develop Business Solutions, I developed a strong IT foundation by maintaining office equipment and configuring VOIP phones and LAN/WAN networks. Together, these experiences have provided me with a well-rounded skillset, combining project support with hands-on technical work.

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zululand, where my studies were concentrated on Power Systems, Process Control and Instrumentation, and Signal & Systems. This specialized curriculum provided the direct theoretical foundation for roles in power generation, distribution, and industrial automation. My learning was cemented through a comprehensive final-year research project, 'Investigation of Power System Blackouts and Prevention Strategies,' where I applied advanced simulation tools like DigSilent PowerFactory to model grids, simulate faults, and analyze prevention techniques.
