About Kgosi Kgage:

I am a young man aged at 27 years with career aspirations in/however not limited to, the Logistics/Supply Chain Management field. I have currently completed my B. Com Logistics Management Degree at the University of Johannesburg, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus. In all three years of my degree, I majored in both Transport economics and Logistics Management. 

I am accustomed to systems and creative thinking and have been able to swiftly and effectively adapt to changing environments and systems. I highly appreciate and value working in an efficient and effective team, however too excel with individualised work/tasks. 

 

Experience

Junior Cross Border Logistics Controller (15th March 2021 – 31 January 2023).

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Conduct daily tracking of carriers and checking of possible driver issues.

 

  • Data Capturing.

 

  • Liaising with clients from the commencement to the conclusion of the export process (including any possible delays/damage).

 

  • Ensuring all units are delivered within the contractual lead times.

 

  • Ensure optimal utilization of the respective carriers.

 

  • Maintaining internal vehicle tracking system and updating any late/failed delivery reasons.

 

  • Keep constant records of available stock ready for export/import planning and further consulting to the export/import planners.

 

  • Provide feedback to management regarding all operational matters.

 

  • Maintaining clear communication with clients/ clearing agents and drivers when required.

 

 

 

Cross border Logistics Controller (1st February 2023- Present).

  • Managing the Vehicle Tracking System’s clerical and administrative functions. 
  • Data Capturing
  • Utilizing Vehicle Tracking System in such a such a manner all the work performed and presented is accurate and in a uniform manner.
  • Administrative functions in relation to Cross Border documentation required.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks and Projects.
  • Liaising with clients, throughout the accepting, processing and movement for their vehicles and accompanying required documents (cross border).
  • Efficient, effective and clear communication with clients/ clearing agents and drivers.
  • Planning, execution and management of vehicle deliveries in line with operational principles and performance standards.
  • Cross Border planning which includes consolidation of full carrier loads, as well as following the process through to the completion of delivery in the relevant country.
  • The understanding of costing and managing of thereof, to allow for the maximisation of efficiencies and profitability in line with performance expectations.
  • Providing and maintaining effective and efficient communication/feedback channels between cross-border personnel, drivers and management, to ensure all are in consensus on operational matters.

Education

I have completed my B. Com Logistics Management Degree at the University of Johannesburg, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus and in all three years of my degree, I majored in both Transport economics and Logistics Management.
