Joy Chauke

I have experience in Supply Chain Management intern within the City of Johannesburg: Public Safety (JMPD). My role  as an intern includes report writing, completing monthly expenditure reports, reconciling accounts, analyze purchase requests: coordinating procurement documentation, checking and verification of compliant documentation, verification of capturing on SAP, verification of vote numbers with finance, general purchasing related tasks, liaising with internal and external suppliers via email and telephonically, issuing of released orders to departments, follow up with orders, sitting in on meetings and taking down minutes, stock taking and filing. I have well developed knowledge and application of the Municipal Finance Management Act No.56 of 2003, Public Finance Management Act, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act No.56 of 2003, Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act, the City of Johannesburg Supply Chain Management policy and regulations, National Treasury Regulations. Through assisting my manager with research on a project, I have had exposure to the NRTC Act and the NaTiS system.

Volunteered as an office assistant for 2 years as a part of a work readiness program. My duties in this role included filing, data entry, managing my mentor’s diary, scheduling meetings, occasionally liaising with other members of the team as well as managing in-coming and out-going calls, recording minutes during meetings, controlling access of the office and handling sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner.
