About Joseph Mosia:

I am currently working at SteynsburgPork SA (slaughtering and de-boning of pork) as QA Manager implementing food safety and quality management systems; I’ve implemented and maintained the FSSC 22000 version 4.1 for period of 04 yrs at Eskort (Heidelberg) slaughtering, de-boning and processing of ready to eat meat, ground products and fresh meat products. I’ve also achieved several accreditations for Eskort limited which includes export & import accreditations. I have advanced knowledge of working with systems such as Meat Matrix, Innova/Marel system and Emydex for traceability, yield and stock control.

 

I have completed my National Diploma in Biotechnology at Vaal University of Technology and done my practical training at QK Meats, and it formed part of my studies and offered an in depth practical experience within the food/meat industry. At QK Meats I worked as an on-line Quality Controller, where I learnt the various aspects of quality within a production environment. I was later moved to the Laboratory, where I worked as a Junior Microbiologist. After my experiential training I was permanently employed as Raw Material Food Technologist, this position exposed me more to Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. I was part of both BRC & HACCP team and very much hand on with the implementation of raw materials specifications, procedures, methods and systems at QK Meats SA. I was also Auditor assistance assisting Dr Johan de Bruyn auditing abattoirs and feedlots.
