Jordyn Wernberg

I am Jordyn, an ambiverted 27 year old. I am the eldest of 4 siblings(so my childcare experience started when I was just a child myself). I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 10 years old and entered the industry as a homework tutor when I was just 18. I have over 8 years of experience, almost 4 of which are qualified experience. I am passionate about what I do and would love to continue to make an impact on children's lives, just as they do on mine. I am patient, reliable, and adaptable. I enjoy working in a team and generally get along with everyone. A unique skill I have as an educator is my experience and short courses I have done in Special Educational Needs. I have worked with children varying in capabilities (ADHD, ASD, Remedial) and have always seemed to find a way to help them learn and adapt. I am ambitious and am currently working towards studying my Honors in Educational Psychology. Some of my hobbies include reading, dancing, and netball. 

I started my career in 2015 as an after school care teacher and also occasionally  substitute taught during school hours. 

I then au paired 3 children in the USA for a year. 2016-2017.

After returning home, I became a homeschool teacher. I have taught at three homes and at one cottage school. I have taught children  from 2 years old to a grade 6 level. I qualified in 2019 and found that the pandemic lead to many parents deciding to homeschool, and since I had experience in that field, I found jobs with ease, I do however realize it is quite a niche market and I would like to expand my skills into a classroom. 

I have a Bachelor Degree of Education, specializing in ECD and Foundation Phase. 

I also have an international diploma in Special Education Needs.
