Jenita Durand-Canton

I am a hard working, ambitious and tenacious individual. I hold a honor degree in psychology, Bachelor of Psychology from Pearson Institute of Education as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I look forward to exploring new roles as well as expanding my skill set within your organisation. I have owned, managed and run a specialised educational franchise since 2018. With my expanding skill set and vast knowledge and experience in effective business administration practices and management, I am certain that I would be a valuable asset and team player within your school. I am based in South Africa but am an Italian citizen and am planning on immigrating to Malta to teach English.

I have worked in the educational industry since 2013 when I started tutoring students part time while studying. I then worked in developing cognitive development in children by building the developmental blocks behind reading, writing and spelling in English. I have extensive research in teaching people the rules behind the English language as well as teachin  the foundational skills behind mathematics. I then purchased the company I worked for until January this year where I sold the company with the dream of moving to Malta to teach.

I am a qualified teacher in South Africa and am registered with the South African teachers board (SACE). I also hold an honors degree in Psychology where I specialised in working with learners with learning difficulties and counselling of children and university students. I also worked in bereavement and trauma counselling with adults so I am very experienced and well versed in authentic and empathic communication as well as teaching of a variety of learners who have struggled and also those who have not, from an emotional perspective as well as a teaching perspective. I also have a Tefl Certificate (120 hours). I have 8 years experience teaching, owning, managing and running a specialised educational franchise. I am ready to teach European children how to read, understand and love the English language.
