About Jared de Waal:
I have been involved with both Athletics as a coach as well as Modern Pentathlon as a Sports event coordinator for 5 years now.
I am passionate about creating opportunities for athletes and helping these athletes develop into the best possible versions of themselves.
Along with this, I am a part owner and founder of Setech Sporting (small sporting company that hosts and manages sporting events) as well as the COO of iRun Athletic Club (with around 100 active members).
Experience
iRun Athletics Coach – Middle, Long Distance & Cross Country
November 2019 - Current
Currently I have a group of 40 middle- & long-distance athletes, ranging from the ages of 9 to 60+ years old. I’m responsible for generating both group and individual training programs to best suit the athletes according to their level of experience and physical ability. I currently conduct physical training sessions 5 days a week as well as remote training sessions.
Ekurhuleni Modern Pentathlon Association - Official / Marshal
January 2018 - Current
I assist with the set up and running of race events for the Ekurhuleni Biathle, Triathle, and Laser Run League events. We host approximately 15 league events throughout the season. Marshalling these races ensuring athletes follow the correct route as well as assisting new athletes with the rules and regulations. I assist with the race time keeping
Setech Sporting – Owner / Director

I’m a part owner and director of a small sporting company where our main focus is to develop athletes through hosting and managing events as well as supplying local athletes with high-quality, affordable sporting equipment, from brands such as Garmin, Falke, Versus and EcoAims.
