As a recent graduate with a degree in Publishing, I am enthusiastic about launching my career in the field of communications, with a specific focus on internal, external, and corporate communications. My educational background, coupled with my persistent, passionate, diligent, and dedicated work ethic, makes me an ideal candidate for roles where effective communication is paramount. As a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Information Sciences (Publishing), I have actively engaged in various roles that have shaped my expertise in communications and content creation. My dedication and adaptability are evident in my roles at PDBY Media, Africa's top student newspaper, where I have progressed from a Copy-Editor to a current position as Digital Content Manager. In this multifaceted role, I oversee web, social media, and multimedia content, manage distribution, and lead a team of content creators.

My responsibilities at PDBY include copy-editing, fact-checking, and proofreading articles, as well as collaborating with the web and multimedia editors to ensure content coherence. I also excel in social media management, where I formulate ideas for content, manage a team, and liaise with section editors to create platform-specific content.

Beyond PDBY, I have served as an Academic Tutor at the University of Pretoria, specializing in publication design and production. In this role, I provided guidance on Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, marked assignments, and collaborated closely with fellow tutors and the Assistant Lecturer.

Furthermore, I interned at Briza Publications, gaining valuable insights into the trade publishing industry by assisting with data entry, manuscript support, email newsletter construction, and participation in marketing meetings.

My leadership roles include serving as the Project Manager and Team Leader for a Community Service Project, demonstrating my project management skills in planning conferences, managing social media, and conducting interviews. I have also taken on the responsibility of Class Representative, maintaining clear communication between peers and lecturers.

My academic achievements, including making the Dean's Merit list and receiving academic excellence recognition, underscore my commitment to excellence. I possess a diverse skill set, encompassing copy-editing, corporate communication strategy, content creation, social media management, and proficiency in various software tools.

This comprehensive background uniquely positions me for roles in communications, public relations, and content creation, with a proven ability to adapt, lead, and contribute effectively to organizational success.

I hold a Bachelor of Information Sciences (Publishing) from the University of Pretoria, a comprehensive program that equipped me with a diverse skill set in the field of communications. The curriculum covered essential aspects such as copy-editing, project management, publication design and production, layout and typesetting, marketing, digital publishing (HTML, XHTML, CSS, and EPUB creation), and a thorough analysis of publishing environments, including trade, education, and academic sectors.

Throughout my academic journey, I delved into subjects such as magazines and corporate publishing, defining target audiences, and English literature. This educational background has not only provided me with theoretical knowledge but also practical expertise through hands-on experiences, including copy-editing for PDBY Media, serving as an Academic Tutor, and interning at Briza Publications.
