Issabella Murungi

I am currently obtaining my diploma in hospitality management, by completing my final year of school. After experiencing all the different departments during my internships, one of favourite departments in hospitality became housekeeping, where I learnt hard work and the preparation it takes to get a guest room ready. I also fell in love with food and beverage which taught me the importance of making a memorable experience for a guest and with my training I grew as a person. 

Every work opportunity I receive is a learning experience, a way to improve myself and add value to my place of work no matter how big or small it may be. My focus is to develop the skills and abilities required to achieve customer satisfaction, which I plan to carry with me in the working environment and improve my hospitality industry position, whether it be management or starting my own hospitality related business

I have completed five different internships with four different hotels, where I worked in the front office, housekeeping as well as the food and beverage department. I also had the opportunity to work for W Hotel during the 2022 FIFA world cup in Doha, Qatar.

W Hotel Doha (2 Months Contract for FIFA): 

Nov 2022 – Dec 2022 Worked as an assistant server for Papermoon Doha, a restaurant owned by W Hotel. 

Saucey Events (Part-Time): 

Sep 2021 – Sep 2022 Worked part-time as a waitress for an events company. 

Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve (3-month Contract): 

Feb 2022 - May 2022 Worked as a housekeeping attendant. 

Radisson Red Hotel (Internship - 2 months): 

Aug 2021 - Oct 2021 Worked as a housekeeping attendant for 1 month and in front office for 1 month at Radisson Red Hotel for my school work-integrated training. 

Bantry Bay Suite Hotel (Internship -2 months): 

Nov 2020 - December 2020 Worked as a front desk receptionist and a room attendant for 2 months at The Bantry Bay Suite Hotel for my school work-integrated training. 

Taj Hotel (Internship - 2 months): 

Feb 2020 - March 2020 Worked at Taj Hotel in Cape Town for 1 month for my work-integrated training as a housekeeping attendant.

Park Inn Hotel (Internship - 6 Months): 

May 2019 - Jul 2019/ Oct 2019 - Dec 2019 Done my first industry training at Park Inn in Newlands, 3 months in the kitchen and 3 months working in the hotel restaurant as a waitress.

High School Diploma: 

Graduated in 2018 at Good Hope Seminary High, Cape Town. 

Diploma in Hospitality Management: 

Studying part-time at The International Hotel School in Cape Town and will graduate in 2023.
