Hanrié Viljoen

I am a talkative and engaging individual with a love for working with people. I hold values of respect and open communication very dear and apply them in any work environment. I have more than 4 years' experience in the service/ hospitality industry. For the past year I have been working in a front of house capacity as the hostess at a popular restaurant on a wine farm in Stellenbosch. I gained experience in working with a large staff under pressure  while still being able to cater to the customers every need. Currently I am completing an undergraduate degree in Political Science, Philosophy and Economics at Stellenbosch University.

2017: casual Barista at Biltong & Brew. 
Duties: making coffees, taking orders, taking payments, cleaning

2019-2022: bartender and waitress at Classic Cats Gin Bar. 
Duties: opening and closing of bar, conducting tastings, knowledge on over 200 Gins, guide customers with any questions, cash up, cleaning, taking orders, taking payments.

2021: part time tutor.

2022-present: Front of house Hostess at Cucina di Giovanni’s Eikendal
Duties: take reservations and man the phones, in charge of the reservation list and making sure to know when we are full and communicate with the kitchen staff, seating arrangements of up to 300 guests per shift, greeting guests and helping them to their tables, offer general assistance to guests in whichever capacity they need, if needed I also occasionally clear tables and take payments if waiters are stuck.
