About Hannah Moritz:
Innovative and results-driven Head Cultivation Manager with a proven track record in large-scale commercial cannabis production, specialising in greenhouse and indoor environments under GACP and GMP compliance. With over eight years’ hands on experience, three of which exclusively focused in high-performance cultivation, I have successfully optimised yields, streamlined operations and led diverse teams in regulated medical cannabis facilities. My expertise spans environmental control, nutrient and fertigation management, integrated pest management and post-harvest processing, ensuring premium product consistency for international markets. Having managed and scaled cultivation teams of more than 30 personnel, I am adept at developing high-performing operational frameworks, strategic expansion initiatives and SOPs to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. As a proactive leader, I thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments, aligning cultivation strategies with business objectives to drive profitability, regulatory compliance and global market expansion. With a passion for agronomic innovation and operational excellence, I am now seeking to lead and optimise large-scale production as Head of Cultivation or Production, contributing to the success of a market-leading company committed to setting the global benchmark for medical cannabis cultivation.
Experience
As Head of Cultivation at Boitumelo Farms, I led a 2,500 m² GMP/GACP greenhouse—designing cultivation plans, environmental‑control strategies (Ridder, Trollmaster), fertigation and IPM programs, SOPs and post‑harvest workflows while managing construction, audits and a 30‑person team to ensure full SAHPRA and EU‑GMP compliance; as Operations, Supply Chain & Marketing Specialist at GESLabs, I optimized procurement, inventory and digital branding for a GMP manufacturing line, driving 30% cost and efficiency gains. Today, as an independent consultant, I craft master grower roadmaps, expert‑witness reports, compliance blueprints (SAHPRA GACP & EU GMP), strategic facility designs, R85 Million API investment proposals, and international off‑take partnerships to scale production and safeguard quality.
Education
I completed a BSc Honours in Plant Genetics at Stellenbosch University in 2013, following a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the same institution from 2009 to 2012. More specifically, I conducted a plant breeding program to identify and selectively breed favourable genetic traits that enhance crop performance.
