After completing my degree in Economics, I navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 job market by becoming self-employed as a Certified Professional Aesthetician, where I achieved a 80% client retention rate. This entrepreneurial experience taught me the value of CRM, customer insights, service excellence, and perseverance.

 I worked as a freelance financial adviser with Old Mutual, gaining exposure to the financial services industry while building client communication and problem-solving skills. Currently, I am completing my Civil Engineering diploma while working as a trainee assistant resident engineer, where I contribute to reporting and quality control on-site projects. Alongside these experiences, I have been actively upskilling in SAP, Python, SQL, and Power BI, laying the groundwork for a career in data analytics.

Resident Engineer – Key Responsibilities

Oversaw daily site operations to ensure work progressed according to the approved programme, specifications, and contract requirements.

Conducted routine site inspections, monitored workmanship quality, and enforced compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.

Provided on-site technical guidance, interpreted designs and drawings, and resolved construction challenges promptly to avoid delays.

Reviewed and approved method statements, material submissions, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with project standards.

Prepared technical reports, site instructions, variation documentation, and progress updates for consultants and clients.
