FIRMIDHA CHEMALY

I am Firmidha Angela Chemaly(nee) HOORZUK. I have completed a B.A. in Linguistics and English studies. I hold a Diploma in Education (2000), a CELTA Certificate (2017) and a 300 Hour TEFL Diploma (2020). I am a monolingual English speaker / user. I have 17 years of teaching experience from grade five through to twelve, including teaching in an international Cambridge school. I am interested in applying for the English teaching post as advertised.

I believe that I am qualified for the position because I have the requisite experience in both macro and micro planning of Learning Programmes, short and long - term planning and of course structured lesson plans. I have developed the skills of differentiation in planning and teaching to accommodate all ability levels in the classroom. My experience has positioned me to teach strategically with attention to detail throughout the basic education spectrum. 

 

I have almost 18 years of teaching experience in South Africa and abroad. I have mostly taught English - both First and Second Language English. I have taught grades 5 to 12 in my career. I enjoy working with youths as I can relate to their phases easily. Communication is simpler with older children. My personal ethos is that a teacher must Maslow before students can bloom.

I have recently completed a BA IN English Studies and Linguistics. I also have a Diploma in Education - Secondary Science. I hold a CELTA Certificate and a 300 Hour TEFL Diploma as well.
