I am currently employed as Deputy Director: Performance Audit at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic). I hold a postgraduate Diploma in Internal Auditing amongst other qualifications, and currently studying towards my Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in Digital Transformation at the University of Johannesburg (JBS). I am responsible for conducting audits and managing Internal Audits and governance reviews including our public entities and Foreign Economic Offices. My expertise and comprehension of operational aspects of other dtic initiatives and programs, such as the revitalization of industrial parks and special economic zones, are also very strong.I have also gained extensive experience in compliance and performance audit.I am consistent in tackling all my assignments with dedication. And due to my scarce skills and competency

Currently I’m a Deputy Director: Performance Audit. I manage audits from planning to reporting phase, at the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (the DTIC) Head Office and Foreign Economic Offices. With over 10 years’ experience in middle management position. Ms Mahlase has a highly successful track record in auditing, governance and risk management which include; conducting Performance Information verification review of performance indicators included in the dtic’s Annual Report as part of Performance Audit objectives. She participated in evaluating quarterly performance report for National Empowerment Fund (NEF), South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) and Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa SOC Limited (ECIC) during the CAE forum meetings.

I have extensive experience in developing the Internal Audit Coverage Plan and Audit Methodology. I’m a seasoned Internal Audit specialist with an impeccable track record in evaluating control measures put in place by management to ensure the economic, efficient and effective use of resources within the various departments and Public Entities I worked at. Amongst others, is providing adequate assurance of controls in various economic sectors supported Industrial Finance Branch (IFB) to ensure economic transformation, revitalisations of industrial parks, the Black Industrialist Programmes and Agro Processing Programme for over 10 years. I’m a trained top-tier talent to create high performing cultures and teams that consistently achieved the mandate of the Internal Audit unit in line with the International standards for the professional practice of internal audit, established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the practice guide on performance auditing issued by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
I’m currently studying towards her Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA): Digital Transformation at the University of Johannesburg and intends to pursue her CIA certification from the South African Institute of Internal Auditors.
