Faye Scott

After graduating in 2011 as a Dietician, I completed my community service year in 2012 in rural KwaZulu Natal. I have since worked in a variety of clinical settings, both resource constrained (government hospital) and resource abundant (private hospital) settings. This has allowed me to develop the skills to educate and support people from all backgrounds. I am able to adjust and adapt my style to reach the target audience and bring meaningful change to their lives. 

During COVID I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health as I believe in promoting health for all. I am currently working part time as a meal planner, while raising my two young boys. My aim is to provide nutritional information that is accessible and realistic, while avoiding the promotion of a negative self-image. I am passionate about providing support to mothers with regards to breastfeeding and feeding their children.

• Nutritional assessment, screening and feed prescriptions for patients in the unit
• Development of treatment plans in conjunction with the family members and multidisciplinary health care team
• On-going nutritional counseling and support during the patients’ stay, ranging from 2-12 weeks
• CLINICAL DIETICIAN PRINCE MYSHENI HOSPITAL | DURBAN | JUNE 2014-OCT2016 ‐ Therapeutic treatment of inpatients — areas covered include: ICU, pediatrics, surgery, cancer and chronic diseases of lifestyle 
•  Education and support for outpatients - focus on Chronic Diseases of Lifestyle 
• On the job training for nurses — focusing on breastfeeding, TPN protocol in ICU, and severe malnutrition feeding in both pediatrics and adults patients.
