Experience
DUTIES & Skills:
Advise staff on HSE matters. Promote HSE awareness and coordinate training for all personnel on board. Responsible for administration of HSE issues and ensure that HSE rules are correctly implemented according to company statutory requirements.
Manage the Health & Safety Management System. Risk assessments and maintain data base. Ensure/advise implementation on site, for the relevant HSE Rules/ Regulations. Control and manage Safety Statistics. Perform HSE education and training as required. Promote and ensure that periodic HSE meetings and safety delegates meetings are held and recorded. Ensure induction safety briefing has been complete and registers are signed by arriving people. Monitor and advise personnel having received appropriate safety training in line with the job performed. Report and document any dangerous/unsafe act and condition. Participate in the investigation process and report findings to Client HSE Department. Assist supervision with HSE inspection and toolbox talks. Ensure that remedial action has been taken to correct sub-standards findings from inspection. Carry out site inspections and maintain safety log. Provide HSE Suggestions and on-site safety improvement. Advise on environmental protection and waste management (in alliance with Client Specifications). Confirm HSE understanding and knowledge’s through HSE evaluation. Monitor project safety document enforcement and perform toolbox talks. Perform periodic inspections regarding maintained on condition of PPE on site/project. Ensure appropriate HSE signage is displayed. Assist in Site Emergency Preparedness (in alliance with Client Specifications). Verify that Project HSE requirements are complied with. Ensure compliance towards the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
Additional Duties & Skills
Compilation of Safety files. Site visits, inspection of files and registers. Perform Health & Safety audits. Compilation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, the conducting, reporting and follow-up on a pre-use safety and/or audit inspections of clients. The preparing, conducting, recording and follow-up actions of a planned task observation in a working place for clients. Conducting all incident/accident investigations on site with the assistance of identified investigation team members. Co-ordination of all emergency evacuation drills on site/head office and record keeping. Providing a service and acting on health, safety and environmental matters on site to the project management team. Compilation of health and safety plans. Ensuring, reporting and record keeping processes are implemented efficiently regarding health, safety and environmental matters on site. Coordinate all training relevant to the Occupational Health and Safety. Assist with keeping all training related records for clients to be serviced as tasked by the CEO up to required standards.
