Emma Swanepoel

I’m Emma Swanepoel, a passionate and creative designer who recently completed a BA in Visual Communication at Red & Yellow. I have a strong foundation in graphic design, branding, and multimedia, blending strategic thinking with artistic flair to create meaningful and impactful designs. My work has been recognized as a finalist in both the Pendoring and Loeries Awards, with one project winning a Craft Award in the Pendoring Awards, which has fueled my drive to keep pushing creative boundaries. I’m curious, adaptable, and always eager to learn, valuing collaboration, attention to detail, and storytelling to connect with audiences and solve real-world problems through design.

I have gained valuable experience as a designer through both internships and personal projects. At Woolworths, I worked in the Visual Marketing department, primarily in the packaging department, where I contributed to various briefs and collaborated with multiple teams. I also developed my skills in multimedia design, working across digital platforms. 

Additionally, I managed social media for Freedom Church, creating and curating content to engage and grow the community. 

My projects have been recognized with finalist placements in both the Pendoring and Loeries Awards. My experience is rooted in a combination of creative strategy, hands-on design work, and the ability to adapt to various project needs.

I am currently pursuing a BA in Visual Communications at Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, set to graduate in April 2025. My major is Graphic Design, with a minor in Illustration. I matriculated from Wembley College in 2021 with honours, where I achieved top marks in South Africa for Business Studies and Geography and received a high-mark award for English.
