Innovative and safe engineer with 7 years practical experience in the mining industry. Contributed engineering skills to enable safe and smooth operation of underground, opencast mining machinery, and minerals processing equipment. Solid knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act, South African Bureau of Standards, original equipment manufacturer’s codes and industry legislation. Strong background in project management and commercial awareness. Experience in drafting, implementation and monitoring adherence to safety regulations, policies and mine standards that enhance safety and overall compliance.

• Appointed in terms of section 7(4) and regulation 2.13.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act, responsible for construction of the following:
  •  77.8 MW solar plant, step-up substation (33kV/132kV), 2 overhead transmission lines 132kV for redundancy, perimeter fencing and security systems, water supply system, roadways, buildings and step-down substation (132kV/33kV), planned to supply base load of Grootgeluk Coal 33kV substation.

• Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical at an honors level.
• Learn and understand the different mining and processing methods of platinum group metals.
• Understanding principles of operations of various equipment on surface, underground and at processing plants, the different maintenance regimes employed, and the legislation associated the safe installation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of such equipment. 
• Complete annexure E modules in preparation for enrolment to write GCC Mines and Works.
