Christopher Thornhill

I am a dedicated and self-starter entrepreneurial individual with comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and taxation legislation. I excel under pressure and thrive on deadlines. I enjoy the merge of accounting practise knowledge to optimise operational and strategic decision making in a company environment. 

I am a loyal trustworthy employee and take ownership from day one of the tasks required of me, and of the company in its entirety. I intrench myself in all departments to ensure that the decision-making process all aligns with the company’s strategies. I enjoy working in a team and have great interpersonal skills to work with all members of a team.

My formal qualification as chartered accountant in South Africa has laid a strong analytical foundation to be able to manage a business to be financially secure and grow on an annual business via maintaining and investing in new relationships. 

In more than 8 years of senior management experience within companies exceeding 5,000 employees I have learned how to work with all personalities inside and outside the boardroom. I am passionate about relationships and believe that all successful companies are built on strong relationships with all stakeholders. 

On a personal level I love playing sports and spending time with family and cooking. I enjoy reading and developing myself to be up to date with all the latest trends and skills to ensure that I can hold my own in any company that I keep. 

After completing my articles with BTGW, I joined the Kalley Group that specialised in Property Development, management and investment as well as construction. 

I moved on after 7 great years with the company. I am currently the CEO & CFO of the Phangela Group that specialises in the services industry, with over 5,000 staff members and 14 companies in the group.

I enjoy the challenge of a entrepreneurial leadership role and am looking to grow with the next challenge and adventure. 

I have completed my BComm in Accounting in 2008 with Stellenbosch University. 

In 2010 I completed my Honours in Accounting with UNISA.

I registered with SAICA as a CA(SA) in 2013 upon completion of my articles.
