Christian Kitumbi Wasso

My name is Christian Kitumbi Wasso - origin DRC, currently residing in South Africa as a Permanent Resident. I have 11 years of experience in lecturing from 2012 up to date, I have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

I can work well under pressure. I am a self-starter, thrive in a team environment and can also work independently. I am interested in this position because I have relevant qualifications such as an Honours and master's degree in educational psychology. I have more than 10 years of experience working within the teaching and learning environment as a Lecturer.

In my 10-year teaching career I worked with the pupils between the ages of 16 - 28 years. During this period, I have developed skills to address the challenging issues which pupils are faced with, both academically and personally. I am looking forward to contributing to the psychological well-being of the pupils to enhance and augment their learning experience. I am positive that my appointment will play a pivotal role of support based on the expertise I have acquired over the years - especially working with young people. The organization will benefit from my experience in the quest to achieve continued academic excellence.
 

I am currently lecturing marketing related subjects in NCV (National Certificate Vocational) program at the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) College. I also provide counselling sessions and career guidance to admitted congregation of the pupils, who are experiencing educational challenges and limitations such as lack of focus etc.

My other responsibilities, inter alia, preparing lecture and subject files, assessing as well as evaluating pupils' performances. I have developed a strong interpersonal communication with the learners, I also gained and learned at the same time how to be patient and tolerant. As an educational psychologist I can quickly notice and identify a problem among pupils during my interaction with them.
