Chelsea-Rose Amroodt

I am Chelsea-Rose, and while most people think of the flower when they see my name, I see my ability to rise to the occasion and above the situation. As you can see, I love words & I'm a sucker for playing with them. I am a middle child, so I'm naturally an adventurer, but I also make a great team player. My curiosity makes me a zealous researcher and someone who constantly strives to produce my best. Ambition drives me yet I know being humble and teachable is what will move me. 

Muizenberg High School; Student Teacher

During the completion of my Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, I was a student-teacher at Muizenberg High School for six weeks. As a student teacher, I had the opportunity to prepare English & History lessons, teach those lessons, and observe teaching lessons from the staff and student teachers of Muizenberg High School.

Rev; Transcriber

November 2019 - February 2021

Rev allowed me to transcribe and proofread speech-to-text projects.

The Projects varied from audio recordings to adverts, visual documentaries, and social experiments. 

Freelance Content Editor

October 2021 - Present 

So far, my freelance work consists of social media projects, including proofreading and editing. Other than social media, I have also done the proofreading & final edits of a book for a local South African writer.

YouTube; Content Creator and Editor

October 2017 - Present 

I have experience filming, editing, posting & promoting Youtube videos across social media platforms. While my Youtube Channel started as simply sharing my dance home tapes, in 2020 it took a more vlog-styled theme. Creating vlog content required more intention behind planning, editing and general filming processes (lighting, thumbnails, topical content, editing for a comical effect) to ensure audience reach. I edited in iMovie and Filmora, and now I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit videos.

iTickets; Scanning Volunteer

June 2018 - Present

For this role, I would scan and sell tickets for different events around Cape Town.

I would also be involved in customer services by responding to logistical questions from customers on site of the events.
