My name is Chantell and I have had the pleasure of working in the industry for close to 20 years. 

I am hardworking, dedicated and loyal. I have a passion for the hospitality industry, weddings & events and organising. 

Teamwork is crucial in our industry and I believe in the 5Ps, Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance, my rule which I live by. 

Working in the hospitality industry is a calling and doing events is a special part of the industry as it gives you the opportunity to turn dreams into reality, be creative yet you also have the very important job to ensure that everything goes according to plan. 

In management it is important to be a leader, not just a manager. Mutual respect is very important and to know what the end goal is should always be the one thing everyone works toward. We are all from different cultures, backgrounds etc yet a mutual work culture is crucial as that is how we all know what the end goal is and how we will achieve it together, as a team. 

I appreciate transparency and feedback, good or bad as that is the only way that you can grow personally and professionally.

Currently working as venue and events director at a 5 star venue in Paarl since July 2022. 

Prior to the current role I worked for the world renowned Royal Portfolio where I started my career in 2008 as receptionist at La Residence in Franschhoek. I was promoted to various positions within the company and the last 5 years of my career with the group I was the Group Events Manager taking care of all events for the 4 properties in the group. 

BEd degree in Consumer Studies obtained from the University of Pretoria in 2007.

Matric Certificate from Nelspruit Hoerskool in Mbombela.
