I am Buhle Nxiwa, a dedicated and forward-thinking Metallurgist with a strong foundation in Chemical Engineering and extensive experience in optimizing metallurgical processes to achieve the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, my research focuses on innovative crystallization techniques for complex brine treatment, reflecting my passion for innovation and problem-solving. With a proven track record in both large and medium-scale manufacturing environments, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a strategic approach to driving operational excellence.

My professional journey includes roles as a Process Engineer at Durban Galvanizing Ltd, where I led continuous improvement projects and ensured compliance with quality and safety standards, and as a Plant Metallurgist at Impala Platinum Ltd, where I excelled in production planning, root cause analysis, and process optimization. I am also a certified Galvanizing Inspector and have experience in teaching and mentoring as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate Chemical Engineering courses.

A natural collaborator, I thrive in cross-functional team environments and am skilled in using advanced tools such as Aspen simulation software, MATLAB, and AutoCAD, alongside proficiency in data analysis, programming, and process design.
