I am a hardworking, curious minded individual who loves learning new things and developing my skills. I am versatile, can undertake tasks independently with little to no assistance, I bring fresh new innovative methods towards simplifying work methods. I see challenges as opportunities to learn and upskill myself and love being pushed outside my comfort zone as I have produced some of my best work when outside my comfort zone and have discovered many strengths thereby developing myself personally and professionally.

legal Intern: Governance Division| South African Diamonds and Precious Metals Regulator

April 2022– To present

Duties & Responsibilities within the Governance Division:

Assisting the General Manager of Governance with vetting of contracts,

Conducting of research,

Ensuring compliance with the Diamonds and Precious Metals Acts and Public Finance Management Act,

Assisting the General Manager of Governance with drafting and vetting of notices and directives meant for industry and internal use,

Assisting the Governance Officer with drafting of minutes,

Compilation of files and documents,

Assisting the General Manger of Governance with drafting of quarterly legal reports.

Updating of the entities risk register.

Handling compliance related matters such as subscribing to state owned entity compliance requirements, BBBEE and POPIA.

Key achievements:

Having successfully drafted two disclaimers for our online applications within my first month of employment.

Recently registering our company’s Protection of Personal Information Act Compliance Officer with the Information Regulator of South Africa. I can proudly say that I initiated and completed the entire process on my own.

My most relevant education is obtaining my Bachelor of Laws degree in 2018, followed by obtaining my Practical  vocational Training certificate and completing all four competency based examinations with the legal practice council.
