AMOS MABIDIKAMA

Amos Mabidikama is an experienced senior Manager and with nearly two decades of operational and strategic experience spanning the Construction, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Chemical, and Animal Feed sectors at different organizational levels. Since joining Yara International in 2018, he has been instrumental in shaping the company’s Operations and HESQ direction, promoting operations excellence, and integrating Lean and HESQ management systems across all operations.

Throughout his career, Amos has driven measurable results in operational efficiency, safety culture transformation, and environmental stewardship. A recipient of Yara’s Global Safety Award in 2021 and a top-four finalist globally in 2022, he is recognized for his ability to align people, processes, and performance. Combining technical expertise with strong leadership and collaboration skills, Amos continues to advance operational excellence and sustainable business outcomes

Part of the Senior Leadership team and reporting to the Managing Director

• Responsible for facilitation and compilation of the local organizations site HESQ strategy                                                     
• Managing Quality control laboratory for incoming raw materials, in process and finished products
• Managing the QMS/ IMS (ISO 9001:2015/ISO14001:2025/ISO45001:2018)
• Coordination of Productivity system(YPS)
• Managing Site Security
• Environmental assessment and compliance
• Process safety and Occupational Safety management and coordination
• Ensuring legal compliance by managing site legal permits
• Guiding and ensuring compliance on Legal and organizational directive requirements
• Operational on a chemical production unit        

Health (H)

• Ensuring employees health through creating health hazard free environment through monitoring, eliminating or reducing to ALARP.
• ISO45001 and directive and mandates ( Stress and Health Management e.tc)

Environment (E)

• Ensuring directive and legal compliance 
• Managing and monitoring permits compliance
• Liaison with authorities on permit conditions
• Proactive guidance to avoid land, water and air pollution through assessments 
• Development and management of sites aspects and impacts
• Development of sites environmental plan

Safety (Occupational and Process)

• Ensuring directive and legal compliance 
• Facilitation of risk identification and mitigation process for both  Process and Occupational Safety.
• Encouraging employee engagement through involvement (Leading indicator)
• Facilitation of HAZID, HAZOP and occupational risk assessment processes
• Facilitation of RCA’s 

Quality (QMS and Product Quality)

• Development of an ISO9001, 14001, 45001 and 55001 system
• Managing the QMS system and giving guidance 
• Managing the Laboratory and ensuring Quality assurance on finished product.
• Lead investigator for Quality complaints 

YPS – Lean Manufacturing

• Managing and coordination of Yara Productivity System (YPS)
• Facilitation of Lean opportunities within the organization
• Liaison with CSIR on lean initiatives
• Incorporation of ISO55001 into YPS                      

Product Quality

• Managing operational aspects of the quality Lab
• Initiating investigation in improving quality performance of the plant in collaboration with production
• Risk based product quality assurance
• Participate in HESQ global task forces.

• Managing the Responsible® Care management System at Site level
• Management of the following Codes within Responsible® care:
• Organization – Monitoring and implementation of organizational measures .ISO 9001 approach.
• Product Stewardship- SDS and site chemical list updates 
• Transport Distribution Safety – Implementation and training on TDS related tasks, Transporter compliance checks
• Occupational Safety – Personnel hazard identification and mitigation measures
• Occupational Health – Medicals and coordination with medical doctor on Health risk assessments
• Process Safety – Coordination with the Process Technologist
• Environmental Protection – Permits compliance and environmental management (EIA, AEL) 
• Emergency Response – ER readiness and analysis
• Security – Risk management and coordination of site security
