My name is Alwyn van Heerden and I’m a seasoned Natural Adabas programmer with solid 20+ years’ experience. In my career I have worked for some elite companies such as Nissan S.A, TOYOTA S.A Richards Bay Minerals and TransUnionITC. I have developed many online and batch programs as well as complete systems. I’m familiar with Operating systems (OS) such as MVS, VSE/ESA and Linux. I also have good experience in how to use and maintain Job Control Language (JCL) and Script Control Language (SCL)

Since March 2012 I’m working for NWK Limited as a Senior Analyst programmer. NWK Limited is an Agricultural company and are situated in Lichtenburg in the North West province. 

Some of my current duties are to write specifications for system according to user’s needs.  Ask questions and make suggestions to ensure the standard of the specifications are met. 

Online and Batch development of Natural programs. The online programs are developed in conjunction with a PHP developer who are responsible for developing the GUI front end.

System analysis of relevant Natural programmes and systems.

Check, updates and balances of financial transactions on a daily basis. End-of-day calculations and reports.

Maintenance and Enhancements on all relevant Natural programs and systems.

Create and Maintain Script Control Language (SCL) on Linux for chronological (structured) batch processing.

End-of-day calculations and reports.

After hour standby for batch processing of daily transactions.

24/7 standby on all relevant Natural systems.
