Alice Hawksley

I am a dedicated graduate student with a BSc degree in Human Life Sciences. I majored in Psychology and Genetics. For the past three years, I have worked as a part time gymnastics coach and as an assistant teacher. My degree and job have taught me many skills, including patience, dedication, time management, creative and critical thinking, and being organised. I work wel within a team and communicate effectively with my peers. I am very observant and attentive, and tend to be a quick learner. My degree have also equipped me with the following technical skills:

My time as a coach have provided me with the skill to be able to set out a plan and follow it accordingly to reach a goal.

I am passionate about setting goals and reaching them, whether it be my own goals or goals within the community or work environment. I love to help those around me where I can in a practical way.

Assistant Teacher at Sunday School, AFM Bellville Church, January 2017 – December 2022
Worked as an assistant teacher at AFM Bellville’s Sunday school. This included reviewing lesson plans for the class, using creative thinking to help the children understand the lessons as well as creating a safe environment where students are encouraged to learn and ask questions.

Gymnastics Coach, Stellenbosch Gymnastics, March 2020 – Present
Worked as a gymnastics coach at Stellenbosch Gymnastics. This involved setting up the equipment as well as effective communication with coworkers to ensure sessions run smoothly. I was also responsible for managing the students’ discipline in group settings, encouraging them to be confident in their abilities and help them enjoy the activity whilst also ensuring their safety.
