Qualifications

Grade 12 or Generic Academic Development Certificate/Equivalent Certificate

Position Responsibilities
***-
Maintain proper water temperature, steam pressure, coal fired high pressure steam.
***:
-
Adhere to standard operating instructions, efficiency of work methods, procedural and safety regulations.
***:
-
Operate all equipment to produce and control the amount of steam or high temperature water necessary to meet demands.
***:
-
Periodically perform visual inspections of equipment to ensure proper operation.
***:
-
Maintain constant observation of floe meters and charts to determine level of steam production.
***:
-
Determine the need to for adjusting fires, using pressure reducing valves, starting and stopping water pumps.
***:
-
Perform other duties of the same, lower or higher level as assigned.
***:

Maintenance of boilers i.e., stockers, conveyers/valves
***

Proven experience as a boiler operator

Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints etc.
