Description
Overberg Water is a Water Board established in terms of section 28 of Water Services Act, No. 108 of 1997. It is classified as Government Business Enterprise as per Schedule 3B of the Public Finance Management Act, No. 1 of 1999 as amended.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • B.Eng. / B.Tech or equivalent degree preferably in a relevant engineering area / water, with a recognized ECSA professional registration
  • Postgrad qualification is an added advantage
  • Minimum 7 years' experience of systems and team management experience within Water / Municipal / Processing / Production environment / water resource management.
  • Manage and Monitor the available water resources to meet customer demands
  • Manage water infrastructure and development
  • Monitor and advise on water and waste water treatment operations
  • Manage water supply projects as determined from time to time
  • Manage water and wastewater distribution to meet customer demands
  • Manage all water related procurement activities
  • Regular liaison with customers and key stakeholders
  • Prepare reports on water related activities
  • Perform general management and administrative functions to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:


Technical engineering skills are a prerequisite, experience in water and waste-water value chain with its associated infrastructure is essential, conflict management and negotiations abilities are essential, diplomacy and sound interpersonal skills are required, financial literacy, program and project management and teamwork abilities are all expected for the role.
