Job Purpose
***The purpose of the Supply Planning Assistant is to be responsible for overseeing and managing the overall end to end delivery pipeline from the factory to the delivery into our warehouse. This role co-ordinates and work with the forwarder and the internal Barron team to ensure all data is available so the best decisions can be made and planned to ensure in stock of inventory.


Job Objectives and Functions

Import Management

  • Monitoring shipments from foreign suppliers. Capture packing list and shipment information onto WMS (voyage creation). Create variance reports for the business such as ordered quantity vs delivered quantity.

Purchase Order Maintenance

  • Ensure delivery dates are correct and packing lists are received from suppliers 12 weeks prior delivery. Create voyage correctly on our ERP system (D365).

Accurate Order Capture and monitoring

  • Place and capture orders on the warehouse management system. Ensure quantity and pricing is correct

Supplier Coordination

  • Communicating with suppliers to track orders, manage lead times, and address any issues related to materials or components supply.

Inventory Management

  • Assisting in maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and providing timely updates to management on supply chain performance and issues.

Performance Monitoring

  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as service levels, and ontime delivery to assess the effectiveness of supply chain operations.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • NQF 5 Supply Chain Management or logistics, and or business administration.
  • 2 to 3 years experience in supply planning management, logistics, data management and customs processes
