Job Title:
Food & Beverage Manager


Overview:


As the Food & Beverage Manager of our restaurant, you will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the food and beverage operations.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our valued guests while maintaining high standards of service, quality, and efficiency.

You will work closely with the restaurant's management team to achieve revenue targets, control costs, and continuously improve the overall dining experience.


Responsibilities:


Operational Management:


  • Oversee and manage daily restaurant operations, including both the frontofhouse and backofhouse activities.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality, presentation, and consistency of food and beverages served.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to develop and update the menu, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences.
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback promptly, finding appropriate resolutions to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with local regulations.

Staff Leadership and Training:


  • Recruit, hire, and train the food and beverage team, including servers, bartenders, and support staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance staff productivity and performance.
  • Organize and conduct staff training sessions to maintain high levels of service and product knowledge.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and staff motivation.

Inventory and Cost Control:


  • Manage inventory levels for food, beverages, and restaurant supplies to minimize waste and control costs effectively.
  • Implement strategies to reduce food and beverage costs without compromising quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyse sales data, expenses, and profitability, providing reports to the management team.

Guest Relations:


  • Interact with guests regularly, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Handle special requests and events, coordinating with relevant departments to provide a seamless experience.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regular customers to encourage repeat business.

Financial Management:


  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for the food and beverage department.
  • Analyse financial data to identify areas for improvement and costsaving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the management team to set pricing strategies that balance profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Proven experience 2 years as a Food & Beverage Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, culinary trends, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with customers, staff, and suppliers effectively.
  • Solid understanding of financial management and cost control principles.
  • Flexibility to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment, including weekends and holidays.
Remuneration R25000 to R30000
