Job Description:

The Desktop Administrator role is to provide 1st line technical support for all the staff in the business. This entails diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all hardware to ensure optimal workstation performance.

The person is the first point of contact for end users who will troubleshoot problem areas, in person in a timeframe where appropriate and provide effective end-user assistance where required.


  • Setup/Configure/Maintain/Administer desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Harden Windows Operating Systems based on NIST & CIS Guidelines.
  • Install Desktop Software and Applications and test functionality.
  • Provide 1st Support for various software packages.
  • System Patching (Windows Updates, Adobe Updates, Java Updates).
  • RJ45 Cable Patching.
  • Physical Workstation and peripheral relocations.
  • Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers.
  • Hardware Repairs and Upgrades.
  • To organize and maintain various IT Files and hardware/software inventory.
  • To administer the creation, operation, modification and deletion of usernames and password of employees on various systems.
  • Training and educating staff on IT related topics such as Security Awareness and IT Security Policies.
  • Other duties as required by your manager.

Qualifications:


  • Recognised Qualifications and relevant experience
  • A+, N+
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A personal interest and or hobby in computers and Information Technology who wants to work and grow within this field.
  • Familiarity with general monitoring and system management procedures and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operations Systems, PC and Hardware troubleshooting and Office Tools.
  • Ability to work as part of a team (but take individual ownership and responsibility).
  • Excellent written communication skills (articulate, friendly, and polite).
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a calm manner and an ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ideally some gaming related industry knowledge and experience
