Description

Main Duties:

Managing the day to day running of the reservations department.

Ensure that all reservations requested are entered into the system quickly and accurately and confirmed accordingly.

Ensure that deposit and contracts are received timeously, correctly, and to report any deviations to the Rooms Division Manager.

Reporting (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual) on Rooms Business Statistics and

Forecast.

Ensure that any overbooking situation is attended to timeously and advise the Deputy General Manager of any foreseeable challenges.

Ensure that Front Office and Banqueting receives all correspondence (FIT, Groups

Deal with Agent and Company complaints.

Effectively manage personnel in order to achieve maximum productivity.

Processing of rooms reservations in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Ensuring that the Hotel is up to date in all areas of rate loading.

Create, update and maintain guest profiles.

Filing and archiving of reservation correspondence.

Liaising with other departments regarding guest requirements.

Responsible to operate within the policies and procedures and audit requirements of company and Unit.

Ensure correct staffing of the department at all times.

Ensure a maximum response on all reservation requests.

Update and manage all Online, GDS Systems and Revenue Management System in accordance with Company Policy & Procedures.


Ensure that conference & group business requirements are actioned and detailed function sheets are sent to all relevant departments timeously.


Requirements:

Minimum 3 years' experience in a 4/5* Reservation Department as Reservations Manager

QSA knowledge:
Reservations, Front Office and Hotel Data essential

Revenue Control/Management & Yield Management experience essential

Ability to work shifts and occasional overtime

Excellent Communication Skills - Fluent in English

Excellent Guest Relations

Minimum Std. 10 (Grade 12)

Relevant Hospitality Industry tertiary qualifications an advantage

Revenue Management qualification an advantage
