Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures for rains Field Services teams, ensuring they are well prepared, trained, equipped, certified and safe to perform their work.
  • Conduct site risk audits / assessments and develop mitigation strategies with controls for potential environmental and occupational hazards.
  • Coordinate site build and maintenance files within the regions and ensure that the relevant records, reports etc. are included and up to date.
  • Ownership of compliance / governance and legislative accreditation and documentation and certification of Field Services team members (access / credentials / clearance etc.).
  • Develop and deliver environmental and safety training programs for team members inclusive of equipment, components, tools, and materials.
  • Manage the supply of health and safety equipment and the servicing of it. Ensure training is performed for proper and safe usage.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

Requirements:


  • Relevant qualification in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience within a telecommunication or related environment.
  • Professional certification within the environmental or occupational health and safety industry (e.g., ISO / SAIOSH / SACA /SAMTRAC / NADSAM/ NEBOSH) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and standards in South Africa.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective environmental and safety programs.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
