Qualifications/Experience

  • BSc Engineering (or equivalent) with more than 5 years experience in a technical environment.
  • Further education in the field of Quality Management is an advantage.
  • Several years in engineering and quality processes preferably in the automotive industry, particularly in the field of supplier management & process Improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for planning and managing all measures for preventative quality assurance to ensure that the parts in his/her parts spectrum are ready for series production and their quality meets the clients specifications
  • Establish quality targets for startup & series production and ensures these targets are continually measured and achieved.
  • Ensure a technical knowledge of the problems being experienced, so that correct decisions can be made in terms of their containment, corrective actions, and ways to prevent a reoccurrence.
  • Facilitate containment and proactively reduce Series supplier quality related topics.
  • In the event of nonconforming material being identified in the plant, initiate, and manage the defect eradication process and ensure that the necessary actions take place timely.
  • Responsible and accountable to ensure total internal customer satisfaction regarding the quality of the parts within the relevant client manufacturing areas.
  • Initiate and support the escalation process, when and where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement within all the departmental quality gates.
  • Responsible to ensure the optimum performance from subordinates in the achievement of their tasks and targets.
