Our client in the Retirement Industry is looking for a Kitchen Manager to oversee stock levels, health and safety, food wastage, and administrative functions within the kitchen at their luxury retirement facility, Onrus Manor, Hermanus.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement and oversee Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) within the kitchen.
  • Manage stock levels, including procurement, distribution, and regular stock counts.
  • Establish and manage a waste management system to minimize resource and food wastage.
  • Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure precise temperature control in fridges and freezers.
  • Attend to Health and Safety protocols, including HACCP controls and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure training on policies and procedures and manage deviations from procedure.
  • Manage fixed assets movement and disposal process and maintain accurate asset stock counts.

Qualifications:

  • Matric qualification required.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Previous staff management experience.
  • Previous experience in stock management.
  • Knowledge and experience of kitchen operations advantageous.
  • Health and Safety knowledge and experience.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Logical, critical thinking, and problemsolving abilities.
  • Report writing and administrative skills.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Proactive and able to multitask efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, decisionmaking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Specific Requirements:

  • Solid and positive references.
  • Clear health, credit, and criminal records.
  • A professional headshot of each applicant.

Remuneration:

  • Salary on offer from R 25,000.00 Cost to Company per month.
  • Salary dependent on relevant experience, skills, and attributes.

Working Hours:
45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07h30 - 17h00 with a 60-minute lunch break.

Every alternate Saturday, 09h00 - 13h00.

Pay:
From R25 000,00 per month

  • High School (matric) (required)

Experience:

Kitchen Management: 2 years (required)
