Description
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Meticulous in all aspects of Managing the Guiding Department
- Managing, Overseeing and Disciplining Staff in the Guiding Department
- Staff training and development
- All administrative duties pertaining to the Guiding Department
- Overseeing and Management of the Portfolio's Fleet
- Allocation of rangers and trackers to daily game drives
- Allocation of Airport Transfers
- Guest Activity and Airport Transfers
- Assistance around the lodge in other departments if needed
- Make sure the guiding experience is of top standard.
- Make sure the guiding department adheres to the conservation ideals of the property.
- Conservation is key and the guiding department needs to portray that at all times.
- Make sure all guiding equipment is well looked after.
- Encourage qualification upgrade of guides.
- Reporting to Group Operations Manager(s) and Head Office.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid RSA Driver's License and PDP
- First Aid
- FGASA Level 2 (NQF4)
- Firearm competency
- Must have matric (passed grade 12)
- South African Citizenship
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a Big 5 reserve
- Reserve management experience mandatory
- Guiding background
- Conservation background
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certified field guide qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to ensure smooth operations.
- A passion for wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
- Proficiency in English (additional language skills are advantageous).
- First Aid
- Commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and exceeding expectations.
Package:
- R15,000
- R18,000 per month
- Salary is negotiable depending on qualification, experience and references
- Accommodation (unfurnished)
- Meals while on duty
- 21 days on7 days off work cycle
- 15 days annual leave

Salary:
R15, R18,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employerprovided relocation package (required)
