A well-established logistics company with an overseas presence has a position for Project Manager with experience in the mining industry.

Responsible for the accurate, timely, and professional delivery of project deliverables per the company, client, and projects requirements.

Together with the group's executive team, lead a local team providing logistics and procurement services to client projects.

Plan, document, execute, monitor, control and close projects while ensuring effective communication and achieving customer satisfaction. Provide sound risk management principles to all activities within the supply chain.

Maintaining compliance with contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements by aligning these within the business and project activities through relevant policies, procedures, training and accessibility to relevant information.

Continuous improvement by promoting a learning culture within the Company, ensuring the availability of knowledge across all our projects.

Ensure Project schedules, budgets and target deliverables are reported and achieved to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.

Liaising and communicating with Client, making decisions on procurement and logistics options in close collaboration with the client and the group's executive team.

Implement financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements if required to present a real time view of the supply chain operations.

Identify external & internal risks and propose mitigation actions.

Adapt and utilize technology and IT to achieve higher efficiency, accuracy, prompt communication, and better cost & revenue management.

Ensure that Health and Safety remains a key area of excellence throughout the organization.

Deliver operational excellence by ensuring compliance with local and international certifications (such as ISO, ICMI etc.) and managing a fully integrated QMS procedure when required.

Lead rate negotiations and finalisation of freight quotes to the client on a timeous basis.

Lead and manage the logistics execution plan for all cargo movement.

Monitor staff performance and output to meet KPI's.

Lead the team through coaching, development and motivating sub-ordinates by monitoring performance against output targets.

Build client relationships through engagement and support to ensure a proactive team environment.

The position may require frequent travel.

Bachelor of Engineering/Formal Logistics Management Degree

Minimum 10 years operations experience in the mining environment
Project execution experience within the supply chain environment.
Experience in managing large, multicultural teams.
Experience with large mining projects is advantageous.
Experience in a senior capacity in South Asia, Africa or the Middle East is advantageous.
