ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible person will be required to work in the manufacturing environment and help to design new or updated production processes through the analysis of assembly measurement data.

As a dimensional engineer, your primary responsibilities include part & product measurement using GOM and scanning equipment for the assembly process to ensure parts are within manufacturing dimensional specification.

Activities also involves analyzing data, identifying problems in the manufacturing process, and documenting case studies while generating and performing statistical reporting as well as fixture and tooling integrity.

POSITION DETAILS

Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D, 6 panel tools etc.
Manage and direct statistical process control activities
Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis
Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently
Establish tolerance limits and facilitate appropriate corrective actions
Establish and monitor quality target levels for each build
Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations
Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods
Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements
Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers
Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility
Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area
Must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

National Diploma or degree: In Engineering Related Field

Years Manufacturing & Dimensional Experience

Knowledge, setup and operation of CMM / Scanning Measurement equipment

PERFORMANCE

Improve part and assemble quality from data analysis
Drive improvement of overall assembly quality with the aim to achieve nominal assembly specification.
Ensure fixture integrity and measurement are achieved efficiently and timeously
Drive incoming quality and ensure part integrity are monitored to identify abnormalities
Improve process capability and eliminate variation from the manufacturing process to ensure a stable a capable part and process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Use company and industry standard processes and tools to plan, design, manage, and utilize gauges for measurement of components and assemblies.
Interpret data from inspection equipment and recommend responses
Ensure gauge calibration; certification; and repeatability and reproducibility
Determine locators and measuring points
Verify tolerance/engineering specifications
Develop dimensional/product/process controls plans

Define and conduct machine process capability analyses
