Product Market Research Assistant - Independent Aftermarket Automotive Business Segment.Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive research on the independent aftermarket automotive business segment, focusing on passenger cars, commercial trucks, and construction and mining equipment markets in Africa.
Data Compilation:
Collect and organize relevant data from various sources, including industry reports, market studies, government publications, and online databases. Ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the compilation process.
Cataloging and Organization:
Create and maintain a well-structured database or repository to house the collected data. Develop effective cataloging systems to facilitate easy retrieval and reference of information for analysis and reporting purposes.
Forecasting:
Utilize historical data and market trends to develop accurate forecasts for product demand, market growth, and potential challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align forecasts with business goals.
Market Segmentation:
Define and refine market segments within the passenger car, commercial truck, and construction and mining equipment markets. Identify key players, customer segments, and geographical regions for targeted analysis.
Competitive Analysis:
Monitor and analyze competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product offerings within the independent aftermarket automotive segment. Provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Reporting:
Create comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate research findings, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders. Present complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
Collaborative Approach:
Collaborate with colleagues across departments such as product development, marketing, and sales to support informed decision-making and align research efforts with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product market research, with a strong focus on the independent aftermarket automotive segment.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Familiarity with relevant market research tools, databases, and techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
- Understanding of the African automotive market landscape is preferred.
- Proven track record of successful forecasting and datadriven decision support.
