Minimum requirements for the role:


  • A matric is essential for this role.
  • A relevant Network/IT or related engineering degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience having worked in a Senior Networks / Operations Management role within the telecommunications or related industry will be an advantage.
  • Must have excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Previous experience managing staff is preferred for the role.
  • Must have indepth experience in layer 2 and layer 3 networking and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP.
  • Must have indepth experience MPLS, SD-WAN and QOS design and networks.
  • Must have knowledge of GPON Networks.
  • Experience in networking routing and switching in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
  • Overseeing the daily network operations and ensuring the efficiency of services provided to customers as well as working closely with all departments ensuring that the companies vision and strategic business goals are met.
  • Ensuring the network is delivered, provisioned and maintained to standard in the designated regions.
  • Overseeing the planning, organizing, managing, and support to ensure the stable operation of the network infrastructure.
  • Managing the design and implementation of the active network infrastructure.
  • Managing network engineers, vendors, and contractors work to improve network designs where necessary.
  • Managing and overseeing the facilitation of optimal network acceptance by verifying that the network is built correctly
  • Driving preventative maintenance through ensuring quality inspection and maintenance that keeps the network availability at a maximum level.
  • Ensuring effective measures are put in place to accurately monitor the network and condition of the network.
  • Defining and reengineering operational processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Ensuring systems and structures are built and maintained in a manner which ensures customer excellence in the customer journey.
  • Overseeing and managing all active network projects regarding network upgrades etc.
  • Managing and overseeing all teams, ensuring they are onboarded in accordance to the companies requirements.
  • Setting meaningful performance targets for all employees and clearly outline efforts required to reach deliverables.
  • Managing team performance, promoting cohesiveness and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Chairing meetings to ensure team is updated with information required and in order to manage team direction and performance.
  • Presenting weekly uptime reports to senior management.
**Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
