Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Oversee implementation of HIV/TB strategy for children at district, subdistrict & facility level in the allocated cluster
  • Support Anova, DOH and City Health clinical teams (through mentorship, providing technical advice, conducting joint stakeholder engagement activities, conducting facility level support visits, etc) to ensure that agreed upon activities are successfully implemented in facilities
  • Provide clinical training and mentorship on specific topics and oversee implementation of such activities in facilities and in communities
  • Work closely and collaborate with Anova's National Paediatrics Specialist, provide feedback and progress reports when needed
  • Support implementation of psychosocial programmes to support children with HIV
  • Support the collaboration with health facilities and OVCY communitybased partners supporting CA & YLHIV

Minimum qualifications and experience:


  • MBChB degree with valid HPCSA registration as Independent Practitioner
  • Minimum 2 years' post community service clinical experience (for medical doctors)
  • HIV Management training essential
  • Diploma in Child Health would be advantage
  • Experience in training an advantage
  • Experience in engaging with children and caregivers around disclosure in children
  • Experience with management of (donor) public health programmes, an advantage
  • Quality Improvement and project management skills, an advantage
  • Knowledge of strategy and other Health related policies
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Good report writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
