BOILERMAKER ARTISAN

Our client, a Blue Chip Company based in Middelburg has a vacancy for an Artisan Boilermaker

with the following:


The Boilermaker is responsible to perform Boiler making work, manufacturing and Installation, repairs/replacement, planned downtime and to provide mechanical maintenance and breakdown support (including stand-by) in the Hot mill and Cold Products area to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • N3 or N2 with Math's and Science
  • Must have a Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
  • Must have 35 years' Boilermaker experience in Heavy industry.
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills, leadership ability and high tolerance for pressure.
  • Be selfmotivated and able to work independently,
  • Computer literate.
  • Organizing and planning skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Specific Knowledge and competencies/skills:
  • First line maintenance, daily inspections and repairs on assigned sections.
  • Maintain standards in the plant and adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings & accurately work from drawings.
  • Fabrication and repair of steel structures.
  • Different welding processes.
  • Plasma Arc & Gas Profile cutting.
  • Ability to perform different welding processes such as Manual metal arc (MMA), Metal inert gas welding Mig), Tungsten inert gas (Tig), Gas welding, Brazing etc.
  • Thermal cutting processes (Oxy/Acetylene cutting, Arc air gouging ,Plasma arc cutting)
